Live Well Counseling Services was founded by Jake Vickrey. Jake grew up in sunny Southern California which affords him a fresh viewpoint on the issues his clients experience and not the typical “Utah” way of thinking.
In 2007 Jake enlisted in the United States Air Force Where he served as an Avionics Technician on Special Forces aircraft. In 2014 he completed his enlistment requirement and began graduate studies at the University of Utah with his Master’s Degree in Social Work. Jake still works full-time for the Utah National Guard as a Mental Health Counselor as well as overseeing the day to day operations and practicing therapy at Live Well Counseling Services.
Jake is married with five children so he understands the pressures of trying to balance work life with family obligations and all of the “fun” that is associated with it. As areas of focus, Jake focuses on Couples Therapy, Addiction, and Depression as well as trauma using evidence based modalities such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, and Mind Body Bridging,
