Maxwell Wimmer

Maxwell Wimmer
LCSW

Max has experience across counseling offices, residential treatment, an outpatient sober-living
and addiction‑recovery program, and an intensive outpatient program specializing in OCD and
anxiety. These settings have given him a deep appreciation for the different ways people heal
and the unique challenges they face at each stage. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Social
Work from Brigham Young University–Idaho and his master’s degree in Social Work from Utah
Valley University.

Max specializes in treating OCD, anxiety, panic, social anxiety, perfectionism, trauma,
depression, low self‑esteem, and relationship challenges. He uses evidence‑based modalities
including Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Eye Movement Desensitization and
Reprocessing (EMDR), Prolonged Exposure (PE), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). He focuses on helping clients understand their emotions, break unhelpful patterns, and build confidence in their ability to move forward.

People who work with Max describe him as genuine, approachable, and easy to talk to. He
brings a friendly, down‑to‑earth presence to the therapy room and blends authentic
connection with practical, effective strategies that support meaningful, lasting progress.
Outside the therapy room, Max enjoys learning, reading, singing, improv comedy, playing
games, and spending time with his wife and their dog.
